Week 36

Great news from the doctor's office today! I went in for my big 36 week appointment with Andy. First she checked everything out which looked great. Then she did a quick ultrasound to make sure that baby was in the right position. I hadn't felt a big turn or anything and when she was feeling my belly she thought that the head was still up. So I was not very optimistic to say the least. However, baby did turn and the head is down and in the right position. She was feeling the butt up top. So that was very exciting and terrific news! We talked a little bit about the delivery and labor process and what to expect. She also checked to see if I was dilated at all. She referred to me as closed and long. Which basically means that I am not dilated and baby is still pretty high (long). This is all totally fine for right now. But baby could come at any time. Craziness! Needless to say, Andy and I are very excited!

My mom came down this week for a visit, and it was very nice to see her. She comes down every winter so that we can have high tea at the Drake! She had to come a little early this year just because of baby. But I was ok with that. It is always so much fun and very delicious. I could be a Brit--drinking tea and eating scones with clotted cream all day long! Scrumptious! After that, we went shopping. We went to Macy's on State Street to see the big Christmas tree in the Walnut Room. It is very beautiful! Here is a pic. We are a little bit dark but the tree is really pretty!

We had a lot of fun! It was a long day of traipsing around the city but well worth it. I'm really going to miss this city when we move. I love Chicago! I also have a belly picture for you all. This was taken at the end of 36 weeks. It is so weird to think about me without a baby in my belly. It has been so much fun feeling baby move around and growing so fast. I am ready for baby, motherhood, and all of the ups and downs that come with it!
