Weeks 22-23

I put these two weeks together because there was nothing really super interesting happening. I have been working a lot lately and then on my days off I am pretty boring. I sleep and work on school stuff and sit on the couch and watch baby move. Baby has become much more active and we are starting to see and feel things on the outside! This is very exciting because now Andy is feeling much more a part of getting to know baby. He'll lay his head on my belly and feel the kicks and listen to all of the crazy noises going on inside of me. Then sometimes, we'll just sit on the couch and watch my belly do the wave and other crazy things. It is very fun! These are some things that are going on with baby's growth right now. Baby now weighs a little more than one pound and is approximately eleven inches long. His/her lungs are starting to develop, preparing baby to be able to breath normally. They are also beginning to recognize sounds as their hearing is beefing up as well! It is all very amazing! Working in the NICU has made me much more aware of things that are going on with baby. We have a few babies in the NICU right now who are 23 weeks gestation. Even though so many vital things are developed by this point and baby is definitely a baby now, it is for sure not ready to be out of mom yet. I am so thankful that I am healthy and that baby is healthy and behaving inside of me. I want him or her to stay there for many more weeks to come!
